I am a sucker for a great love story, and I am known to be the sentimental one of my family! I am the go-to archiver of photo albums and VHS tapes, the upcycler of passed-down heirlooms, and the ones who value experiences more than any tangible item.
I AM DEDICATED TO MAKING SURE YOUR LIFE MOMENTS ARE WELL-DOCUMENTED
Sentimental Story Teller
WHAT I WILL OFFER YOU...
I am very dedicated to authentically capturing your love. A lot of photographers will tell you they want to be your best friend, and even though I can always use new friends, that is not necessarily my style. I believe that whether these photos are about your graduation, your family, your engagement, or your wedding, the common denominator here is YOU! I show up to make this about you and act as a supporting role on your vendor team. Even though I will totally show you off on social media and brag all about your photos when we capture unique and epic moments, you will never catch me putting my own portfolio above your authentic love.
I am very comfortable suggesting poses and directing you and others through our photoshoot. I find that my favorite photos and video clips are the ones where you don't even notice me, the ones where you are so obsessed with your season of life! I aim to create a comfortable and inclusive environment, and sometimes even act as the fly on the wall. When you look back and think about your wedding, I don't believe you should be thinking about me, I believe you should be remembering the most amazing moments. I will capture those moments so that you have actual, tangible memories to look at and remember even deeper.
Doing this full-time is my dream. Creating these images and videos for you means everything to me. Being able to wake up every day and work with clients like you doesn't feel like work. That was my small-town dream from the get-go - to have a life I wouldn't need a vacation from.

HEY THERE, I'M ANNIE CASE!
I am so happy you have found my little corner of the internet! Let me tell you a little bit about me. I am Annie and I grew up in the small town of Douglas, Wyoming. While living there I did not feel like it was a small town, because it is actually quite a large town in comparison to other towns in Wyoming, but once I moved away, I realized just how small it is!
I MOVED TO UTAH BECAUSE OF MY LOVE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY!
Ever since I was in middle school and people started to ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I knew I would be in the wedding world. At first, I thought that I would be a wedding cake baker, but then I took every art class I possibly could and started to learn how PhotoShop worked. I had no idea how to operate a camera in high school, but I taught myself PhotoShop and started creating digital art. By the time I decided that I wanted to learn photography, it was time to head off to college. I found that Northwest College in Powell, WY was offering the 6th best photo program in the United States and it was very affordable. I had never been to Powell and no one from my graduating class would be attending NWC with me. I truly had to leave the nest and go out completely on my own. It was terrifying, but luckily I quickly started to make friends. Most of my classmates were way ahead of me because they knew how to use their cameras. I was able to help them with the computer programs and they helped me with my camera settings. I took it all in, booking as much studio time as possible, reading every bit of text two times just to make sure I had it right, and completing my assignments early so that I had time to re-do them if I was not happy with the final product... yeah I annoyed my peers, but to me, this did not feel like school or work, it felt like my dreams were coming true!
I knew that I would have to leave again because there was not enough demand for the type of business I had in mind. I settled on Salt Lake City. After graduating college with a 4.0, I literally went home, packed up my little Subaru Legacy, and drove to South Salt Lake the next day.
WHEN I ARRIVED IN UTAH...
IT WAS SO DIFFERENT! Everything about Utah was foreign to me. Everything.
I had to learn how to live in a city and navigate a world where no one knew me and no one cared about me. This sounds harsh, but it was my experience after being in a small town where everyone knew me and all my business (if you know, you know)! At first, it was very difficult and I was scared, but I never let circumstances slow me down for long. I decided to take this challenge and turn it into something positive. I started to notice that other photographers really struggled when it came to building the intricacies of their business because their clients personally knew them and had opinions about every aspect. Luckily for me, no one knew me, so when I got unsolicited advice, it did not impact me as much. I was free to be as creative as I could and try many different niches. At first, I paid my bills by accepting a commercial photography position where I photographed clothes in a studio. I would come home at night and work until I was too tired, building this business from the ground up, completely from scratch. When it got too overwhelming I would take the weekend to explore new areas and imagine a beautiful couple standing there and I started to build out a location guide. I did that for three years until I got to the point where I knew exactly what I wanted for my business and started booking the type of clients that I loved.
Even though that part of my life was summed up in a small paragraph, it took me five years to get to the point I am at now. Owning a creative business comes with a lot of "no's" and a lot of failure... but through it all, I learned so many lessons. I learned how to be there for my couples. I learned how they need me to be a part of their day and which areas of the planning process require some advice. I learned my style and I learned what type of clients work well with me. I learned how to elevate my couple's weddings by suggesting timelines or activities that they have not thought of or I might notice that they are missing out of the schedule. Most of all, I learned who I am and what I am proud to offer.
